Goods recognition process

How are the goods recognition process carried out?

It is important to know that in order to carry out customs clearance of any good the first document requested is the pediment; This document is the electronic declaration containing the information relating to the goods, traffic and customs procedure to which they are intended, among other data required to comply with the formalities of entry or exit from the national territory.

Once the pediment has been drawn up and the compensatory contributions and contributions determined by the person concerned have been made, the goods shall be presented with the request or the consolidated notice to the customs authority.

At this time, the automated selection mechanism is activated which randomly determines whether the customs recognition of the goods should be carried out, if selected for review, the customs authority shall carry out the recognition of the Same.

At the time of review, the person transporting the goods must have the following documentation:

  • Letter Porte from the carrier covering the goods and the indicated journey; Referral Note or Shipping Note.
  • Bill. (If it is first-hand sale in national territory, with data from the customs office of entry, pediment and customs agent)
  • Carrier Order
  • Compliance with Mexican Official Standards according to the merchandise.
  • Documents annexed to the pediment. (Certificates of origin, permits, registrations, international boarding document, among other regulations).
  • Documentation proving the property or rental of the vehicle.
  • Driving license (for ground transportation).

The vast majority of procedures for the verification or recognition of goods in transport are concluded immediately if the carrier has the documentation indicated.
