International Logistics Process

As mentioned above, International logistics is composed of a series of activities or processes, which combined and developed in an efficient way, must result in an optimal product or service, delivered to the customer on site and stipulated time.

Logistics is an essential part of a company, so for a successful process to design a circuit that spans supplier, company and customer.

The good execution of these processes is what can ensure that the practices in the logistics process are the right ones and the end result that is linked to customer satisfaction are positive. In Grupo Griska we believe that these processes should be divided into 5 threads, each just as important as the previous one: Purchasing, Customer Service, Inventory Management, Storage and Transportation.

Shopping

This part of the process is considered one of the key aspects for business profitability, as it is at this stage that the cost of services is determined.

Planning purchases, selecting suppliers, managing logistics to be made and keeping track of such purchases can give the organization a better competitive position, taking into account principles such as: that acquisitions must obey the company's particular requirements; that a detailed analysis of the benefits of the products and services that the supplier is offering is needed.

Customer Service

This has become one of the most important areas of logistics. It is defined as the set of interconnected activities offered by a vendor so that the customer obtains their orders at the right time and place.

Customer Service – within the supply chain – as a process, encompasses the entire cycle of the order from birth to end.

Good logistics with good customer service can become a promotional item for sales, with as much power as advertising, discounts, or personal sales.

Inventory Management

Another process that stands out in logistics is that related to the control and management of the stocks of certain products and / or services that it depends on that we can comply in a timely manner as requested by the customer. We must be prepared for any request and avoid declining requested services as this is part of the satisfaction in the service.

Storage

It is the function of guarding all goods; An inventory control and custody process should be implemented for this purpose. This operation physically controls and maintains all inventoried goods. When you create the storage strategy, you must define the storage model and the warehouse management system.

Warehouse management has the essential function of optimizing physical flows that are taxed from the areas of sourcing and manufacturing. On the other hand, management has the ability to make a stock valuation to control insurance premiums.

Transport

One of the most important aspects of logistics has to do with transport, which is understood as the means of mobilizing goods or people from one point to another. Modern commercial transport is in the public interest and covers all modes and infrastructures involved in the flow of materials and the delivery, handling and reception services thereof.

Commercial transport of goods is classified as cargo service; as has happened in other regions, in Latin America transport is a fundamental factor for the development or delay of nations.

Six modes of transport are generally used for the distribution of goods:

Carter.

Air.

Tight.

Water.

Maritime.

Multimodal (movement of products using two or more different modes of transport).
